Inspirational Thoughts

The Golden Rule emphasizes being concerned for and loving others.
Its rewards are eternal.  The antithesis of which could be summed up in
the saying, “Watch out for number one!”  If not practiced in a healthy,
moderate fashion—balanced with a spiritually healthy dose of The Golden Rule—
this could lead to a selfish bias.  Such could be described as ‘The Iron Rule.’
While iron is initially strong, it rusts and decays when exposed to the elements over time.   Gold, on the other hand, when it is pure, shines bright and tarnishes not.
Such is the pure love of Christ:  When our hearts possess it, love can endure forever!

Whenever a person opens their heart to you, tread very carefully:
You are about to step onto sacred ground!

A person is not ” a body.” A person is a living, breathing “soul”–of divine worth and infinite potential. As you look at their countenance, you may catch a glimpse of what they are thinking and feeling. If you look into their eyes, you see who they are.

We are more than creatures of habit.  We are beings of spiritual momentum.
Therefore, once you step into enlightenment, keep on going!

You don’t know what you don’t know. And I don’t know what I don’t know.

But if we listen to each other in an open, respectful way, then we can learn
from each other and gain insights we wouldn’t have otherwise.

One hallmark of a truly spiritual life is the serving of others for the joy of it.

Who knows what will become of an individual once they depart this world–but God Himself? With all the experience, knowledge, memories and feelings the person takes with them, surely they will be added upon as they choose the path of Light in the spiritual realm. As they hold fast to the godly qualities they possessed in mortality–such as love, compassion, patience, long-suffering, forgiveness, honesty, willingness to sacrifice for others, virtue, honor, and righteous desires and intent–they will be magnified in the same. Lastly, if a person cultivated the gifts of faith, hope and charity in the Living Christ, God will exhalt them on high in Celestial Glory.

To say that one is a “spiritual being” but not religious is akin to a beautiful,
shiny lamp
reflecting the light of the sun but never plugging into the Son
the Source of all truth and light–thus denying oneself the opportunity of
becoming the mighty instrument of light one was created to be.

The physical and the spiritual are meant to be one.  Yet, to feed the former
while neglecting the latter creates a breach of soul, which brings fragmentation
of spirit.   Misery and discontent ensue.  However, feeding the latter while
caring for the former brings wholeness of soul.  Peace follows.

Birds of a feather may flock together, and hedonism may have its moment.
But true friendship is a perpetual gift that sustains the soul through life and beyond.

To dream of a happy future is a good thing–
so long as your dream is grounded in effort.

Do not deny yourself the blessings of hard work:  The inherent lessons far exceed the fleeting spikes of pleasure.  Do not rob yourself of wholesome recreation:  In so doing, you would forfeit the invigorating refreshment needed to return to work with gusto.

Don’t judge a person as smart or not.  Rather, assess where
their gifts lie.  For every person is “smart” in something.

It is true: There is no “I” in “team.”  Yet, if a team is not one of heart and mind,
then they are as an all-wheel drive vehicle with the front wheels in
drive and
the rear wheels in
reverse:  They will get nowhere fast.

In case you may still be wondering, life is meant to be hard.  It’s not that the
Almighty delights in seeing His children struggle, it’s just that He knows they
are learning and growing through the process.  Such is the power of mortal
experience.  Often, the wisdom gained by it cannot be acquired any other way.

To hope for anything else would be contradictory to the spiritual laws that govern Heaven.

Living the “good life” is nothing more than living a “good life.”

With regard to learning the truth of a matter:  The mind is the channel through
which information passes.  The heart is where the information is then weighed
and measured.  The validity of the matter is thereby confirmed through the Spirit
of God.  Thus, we have the capacity to know the truth of things as we ponder
what we learn then turn to the Source of Truth through prayer for confirmation.

Truth is the substance of reality.  It has its own demands.  Yet, we are
only as knowledgeable as we are courageous in our hearts to embrace it.

To deny ourselves of a truth–and therefore not live by its precepts–is to revoke
our opportunity for spiritual growth we could derive from it. If we persist on such a course, darkness encroaches upon the soul, light within diminishes, and spiritual stature declines.

True love is a spiritual experience.  It is pure and everlasting.
Its existence is not contingent upon physical realities.

A person is not a “body.”  Rather, they are a “spiritual being” that happens
to dwell in a physical body.  The twain, spirit and body, constitute the
soul.
Without the spirit, there is no life.

A person’s physical appearance is deficient in disclosing the godly attributes of wisdom, light, truth, understanding, integrity, love, compassion, and empathy housed within their soul.  Such can only be discerned through spiritual eyes.

When a person accomplishes a remarkable feat through the use of their physical
body–say, an athlete or a musician, for example–it is because their spirit within
them has mastered their body. Like a jockey on a horse, with bridle and reigns,
he wields power to do great things through the command of the beast!
