First Song Published!

I finally did it! I finally did it! Yes, you read that right. I said it twice for a reason:

First, I finally recorded and published my first song, Dance in the Rain !

Second, I finally got around to posting this announcement that I did so. Sounds ironic, perhaps, but there are many background things to do when publishing and promoting one's content online. These days, you need to be a one-man band so to speak. In this case, songwriter (music AND lyrics), blogger, publisher, copywriter, videographer and producer.

Thankfully, I love doing what I'm doing, and words cannot express how excited I am to finally arrive at the point where I am now recording and publishing my music.

Dance in the Rain is a song that gently caresses the heart strings while drawing attention to a poignant topic: Adversity. It's no secret that life is full of challenges, but it's how we respond to those challenges that reveals our true character:

As you Dance in the Rain,
let it wash away the pain.
Behold: Your true self remains! ...

Just as the Second Chorus above states, life has a way of revealing who we truly are. In the end, there will be no room for false bravado. We each are a person with strengths and weaknesses. And, sometimes trials and tribulations bring out the worst in us. Yet, they can also bring out the best we have to give...

In typical lyric-intensive Folk style, Dance in the Rain is a commentary on recognizing the challenges our lives, facing up to them, and learning to see the good in life despite those challenges! The song challenges us to make the best of the life we've been given and the circumstances we find ourselves in.

Dance in the Rain is an exhibition of my fingerpicking technique used alternately with strumming through the song. This so happens to be the reason my mother picked this song as my first song to record. She loved this song! I hope you like it, too! Click here to view the video. Best regards, and remember...when life get's you down, and you're wondering when in the world that sun is going come back out, "...maybe it's time to learn to 'Dance in the Rain.'" Enjoy!

All the best,
-Tom Ligi
